My Mac Email
- Select Mail and then Preferences
- The General Window Pops Up
- Click on 'Accounts' - Accounts Window Pops Up
- Locate the account down the left side of the screen under 'Accounts'
- Click on the account in question and the settings for this account will be on the right side of the screen under 'Account Information'
- Re-type Incoming Mail Server / User Name / Password (this is to re-confirm the settings to the Apple Mail Client)
- Click on the 'Advanced' tab on the right
- On the bottom half of the Advanced area, make sure 'Use SSL' is un-checked, if using POP3 the port should be 110 and if using IMAP the port should be 143. Under Authentication select Password
- Click on 'Account Information' Tab and go to 'Outgoing Mail Server(SMPT) 'Use only this server' should be checked
- From the drop down feature 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)select 'Edit Server List'
- A new window will pop up. On the bottom half select 'Account Information'
- Click on 'Advanced' tab
- When closing this window Apple Mail will prompt you to save your settings
- Close Apple Mail and Reopen and make sure all accounts are 'Online'
- Click on 'New Mail'
