  1. Select Mail and then Preferences

  2. The General Window Pops Up
  3. Click on 'Accounts' - Accounts Window Pops Up

  4. Locate the account down the left side of the screen under 'Accounts'
  5. Click on the account in question and the settings for this account will be on the right side of the screen under 'Account Information'

  6. Re-type Incoming Mail Server / User Name / Password (this is to re-confirm the settings to the Apple Mail Client)

  7. Click on the 'Advanced' tab on the right
  8. On the bottom half of the Advanced area, make sure 'Use SSL' is un-checked, if using POP3 the port should be 110 and if using IMAP the port should be 143. Under Authentication select Password

  9. Click on 'Account Information' Tab and go to 'Outgoing Mail Server(SMPT) 'Use only this server' should be checked

  10. From the drop down feature 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)select 'Edit Server List'

  12. A new window will pop up. On the bottom half select 'Account Information'
    • Description should only be the customers full email address
      Server Name should be 'mail.domainname.com

  13. Click on 'Advanced' tab
    • Radio button for 'Use custom port' 587
      Authentication: password
      User Name: full email address
      Password: email password
      Click 'OK' this will bring you back to the 'Accounts' page

  14. When closing this window Apple Mail will prompt you to save your settings
  15. Close Apple Mail and Reopen and make sure all accounts are 'Online'
  16. Click on 'New Mail'
